International Program

Everest International Program stands out among other language programs of its kind for three main reasons:

  • Personal Attention: Everest International Program’s small program size ensures a personalized formation environment for its students. Each student receives personal mentoring and a network of support from the entire formation team. The program director is readily available for both parent and student support. This personal attention allows our students formation process to be molded to their individual needs and circumstances. An additional benefit is the family atmosphere created in the program. The students know all their peers closely and form lasting friendships with one another. This personal attention and constant supervision ensure a safe environment in which our students are able to flourish with growing independence while always having the necessary safeguards to keep them out of harm’s way.

  • English Language Immersion: An Everest student is immersed in an English language environment from the moment they arrive. With teachers specifically trained in teaching a mixed classroom of international students and local day students, all the classes are given in English. Students are provided with additional supports, English as a Second Language classes, and academic mentoring in order to help them succeed in this demanding environment.

  • Integration in an American School & American Culture: Through our unique blend of residential life and attendance at a day school with American students, our students are fully immersed in the American experience. Our students form lasting friendships with students from many cultures. Their weekly outings bring them all over the state of Michigan to experience many cultural traditions, cheer for Michigan’s professional sports teams, and visit the area’s attractions. Our students live American tradition by going apple picking, celebrating Halloween, carving pumpkins, cutting down their own Christmas tree, and, if they are lucky, having classes canceled for a “snow day.” The trips offered throughout the year provide our students with the opportunity to visit other highlights of American culture including New York, Boston, Niagara Falls, and Chicago. Each day of their year at Everest is truly an American experience.
